Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s ongoing commitment to social welfare as India marked 11 years of its governance. In a post shared on social media platform X, Modi said the government’s approach—rooted in empowerment, infrastructure, and inclusion—has helped lift over 250 million people out of poverty. “A compassionate government, devoted to Garib Kalyan (welfare of the poor), has driven transformative change,” he wrote.
Citing flagship schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, the Prime Minister said access to housing, clean cooking fuel, banking, and healthcare has been greatly expanded.
He also underscored the significance of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), digital inclusion, and rural infrastructure in improving efficiency and ensuring transparency in welfare delivery.
