In a significant move ahead of the Haryana assembly polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday barred the Haryana government from announcing the results of ongoing recruitment processes for police constables and teachers until the election is over. The ECI made this decision to ensure free and fair elections, which are scheduled to be held in a single phase on October 1, with results to be declared on October 4. “To maintain a level playing field and ensure that no undue advantage is given to anyone, the Commission has directed the State Government not to declare the results of these recruitments until the completion of the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Haryana,” the EC stated.
