Chandigarh, August 27
In a major political move, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) chief Dushyant Chautala and Azad Samaj Party president Chandrashekhar Azad announced on Tuesday that their parties will contest the upcoming Haryana elections together. Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Chautala revealed that the JJP will field candidates in 70 seats, while the Azad Samaj Party will contest 20 seats. This decision is seen as a significant shift in Haryana’s political landscape, as the JJP has opted for an alliance with the Azad Samaj Party instead of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
