Seven members of a family—three women and four girls—died when their car plunged into a canal near Mundri village in Haryana’s Kaithal district on Saturday.The driver lost control of the vehicle and was rescued, but the others drowned, the police said. A 12-year-old girl, Komal, is missing, and efforts are underway to locate her. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the accident “heartbreaking” and extended his condolences on X, previously known as Twitter. He assured that local authorities are providing all possible assistance.
