Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly rejected allegations made against India in a Canadian commission’s report that investigated claims of foreign interference in Canada’s elections. In an official statement, the MEA dismissed the report’s claims, asserting that it is Canada that has been “consistently interfering” in India’s internal affairs.
“We have seen a report about alleged activities on purported interference. It is in fact Canada which has been consistently interfering in India’s internal affairs,” the MEA said. The ministry further pointed out that this interference has created an environment conducive to illegal migration and organized crime.
India called for the end of support systems that enable illegal migration, rejecting the report’s insinuations and emphasizing the importance of addressing the issue at its core.
