Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the historic one-day special Assembly session set to take place in Kokrajhar on February 17, calling it a significant step toward empowering the Bodo community. Modi reaffirmed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) governments at both the Centre and in Assam are committed to fulfilling Bodo aspirations. Responding to an announcement by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on X, Modi wrote: “The NDA governments, both in the Centre and Assam, have been working tirelessly to empower the Bodo community and fulfil Bodo aspirations. These works will continue with even greater vigour.”
Modi also recalled his visit to Kokrajhar, where he experienced the region’s rich and vibrant Bodo culture firsthand. The upcoming Assembly session marks a crucial moment in Assam’s political landscape, reflecting efforts to strengthen indigenous communities and ensure inclusive development.
