President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a warm welcome to Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, as he arrived in India for a state visit on Tuesday. A ceremonial reception, including a Guard of Honour, was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ministry of External Affairs Spokesman Randhir Jaiswal shared the details of the reception, marking the beginning of a significant diplomatic engagement. Prime Minister Modi also took to social media, describing Sheikh Tamim as “my brother,” and wished him a productive stay in India, expressing anticipation for their forthcoming discussions.
This visit underscores the strengthening of ties between India and Qatar, with bilateral talks expected to focus on key areas of cooperation.
