India condemns security breach during Jaishankar’s UK visit

India on Thursday condemned a security breach involving External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar during his visit to the UK, where Khalistani extremists allegedly attempted to attack him. The Indian government called on the UK to uphold its diplomatic obligations and ensure the safety of foreign dignitaries.

The incident occurred in London as Jaishankar departed from a discussion at Chatham House. A video shared by THE_SQUADR0N on social media shows a man sprinting toward Jaishankar’s vehicle and tearing what appeared to be the Indian national flag. The act of vandalism took place in full view of London police officers, who appeared unresponsive, according to footage reported by the Times of India.

A Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson said, “We have seen the footage of the security breach during Dr. Jaishankar’s visit to the UK. We strongly condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists.”

The spokesperson criticized the misuse of democratic freedoms, adding, “We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations.”

The attack attempt has heightened concerns over the safety of Indian officials abroad amid growing tensions with pro-Khalistani groups in the UK.
