Shimla, June 2
Dr Mahavir Singh has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University. The appointment was approved by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who also serves as the Chancellor of the university. Dr Singh is currently a professor in the Department of Physics at the university. His tenure as Vice-Chancellor will be for a period of three years, starting from the date he assumes office. The university has not yet announced when Dr Singh will formally take charge.
