In a major counter-terror operation, Punjab Police have busted a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module in Amritsar, allegedly operated by a UK-based handler with links to Pakistan, senior officials said on Saturday. The Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested a local operative, Onkar Singh, in connection with the case. The module was being directed by UK-based handler Dharam Singh, also known as Dharma Sandhu, a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, according to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The Police have also recovered six sophisticated firearms during the operation, including four Glock 9mm pistols and two PX5 pistols (.30 bore). An FIR has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to trace the wider network and identify further operatives. DGP Yadav said Punjab Police remain committed to neutralising terror threats and maintaining peace and security across the state.
