Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Wednesday that the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a multi-layered narcotics and illegal arms smuggling network in a major breakthrough against organised crime. Five people were arrested, and police seized 1.5kg of heroin along with seven weapons from their possession in Jalandhar.
DGP Yadav said the arrests had dealt a significant blow to traffickers, preventing the further distribution of narcotics and curbing the circulation of illegal arms in the region. He reiterated that the Punjab Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring the safety of the state’s residents.
