Chandigarh, September 18
Punjab Police have busted two narcotics cartels with alleged cross-border links, seizing more than nine kilograms of heroin and arresting six men. Sharing details, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on Thursday said that the preliminary investigations point to Harpreet, also known as Happy Jatt, a gangster from Jandiala Guru, as the key figure behind the smuggling operations. He is believed to have coordinated with Pakistan-based traffickers and ran his network through social media platforms, the DGP said. Cases have been registered at Chheharta police station, and investigators are working to uncover wider international connections.
