Olympian Vinesh Phogat attended a farmers’ event at the Shambhu border as their protest, demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP), marked its 200th day on Saturday. Protests are also planned at the Khanauri, Shambhu, and Ratanpura borders. “Your daughter stands with you. I also urge the Government. We too are citizens of this country, if we raise our voices it is not political every time,’ said Phogat while addressing the gathering.
“Farmers have been stationed at the Shambhu border since February 13, following authorities’ prevention of their march to Delhi. The protesters are steadfast in their demand for a legal guarantee of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, along with other key issues,” reported India Today. “We will present our demands to the government once again, along with new announcements,” said Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.
