Shimla, April 7
The government of Himachal Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has completely banned service extensions and reappointments for government employees and officers. The state’s Personnel Department has issued strict instructions to all administrative secretaries, making it clear that no department will send any proposal to the government seeking an extension of service or reappointment for any official or employee.
The government has also decided that employees and officers who have already been granted an extension or reappointment will not receive any further extension. If any such proposals are sent in the future, they will not be accepted at any level.
The Personnel Department further clarified that all officers and employees currently working on service extension, re-employment, or reappointment will automatically be treated as retired once their fixed tenure ends.
