The Congress party has selected former BJP MP Brijendra Singh to contest against Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala in the Uchana Kalan assembly constituency. Brijendra Singh’s name appeared in the second list of nine candidates released by the Congress Central Election Committee on Sunday. Brijendra, a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to join Congress in March this year. His father, a long-time Congressman who had shifted to the BJP in 2014, has also returned to the Congress fold.
