Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday said that the people have decided to bring the Congress back to power. He urged voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their right to vote. “I appeal to everyone to come out and cast their votes peacefully. People are voting in good numbers, and Congress will form its government here,” Hooda told the media after casting vote.
Voting for Haryana’s assembly elections commenced at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm. A total of 1,027 candidates are contesting for 90 seats across the state. The ruling BJP is aiming for a third consecutive term, while the Congress hopes to return to power after a decade. Notable candidates include incumbent Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat, and JJP’s Dushyant Chautala.
