E-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart generated over ₹54,500 crore in sales during the first week of the festive season from September 26 to October 2, according to the news outlet Times of India, citing data from Datum Intelligence. This marks a 26% year-on-year growth, with nearly 60% of the sales driven by mobile phones, electronics, and consumer durables. The iPhone 15 and earlier models dominated sales, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S23 FE, which performed strongly on Flipkart. The surge in iPhone sales was attributed to price drops on older models following the release of the new iPhone, the news outlet said.
