Mumbai, November 12
Mumbai Police have arrested Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in connection with recent death threats made against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The Bandra Police Station registered the case last week after receiving a call demanding ₹50 lakh and threatening the actor’s life.
Khan, who was summoned after police traced the call to a phone registered in his name, claims he lost his mobile recently and reported it missing. He has denied involvement, alleging a conspiracy, and noting a prior complaint he filed against Shah Rukh Khan regarding a dialogue in the 1994 film Anjaam that referenced deer hunting, a sensitive topic for Bishnoi’s community.
The incident follows the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister and Salman Khan associate Baba Siddique. Authorities suspect the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the killing, raising security concerns for both Shah Rukh and Salman Khan.
