New Delhi, December 3

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch the PSLV-C59/Proba-3 mission on December 4 at 4:06 PM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota of Andhra Pradesh. The mission, conducted as a dedicated commercial launch by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), will deploy approximately 550 kg of payload into a highly elliptical orbit.

ISRO announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the mission will carry Proba-3, an In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) mission of the European Space Agency (ESA). Proba-3 aims to showcase precise formation flying using two spacecraft: the Coronagraph Spacecraft (CSC) and the Occulter Spacecraft (OSC). These will launch together in a stacked configuration.

The mission will mark another milestone for ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) program, highlighting India’s growing prominence in international space collaborations.
