Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor on his 100th birth anniversary, calling him a cultural ambassador who elevated Indian cinema on the global stage. In a post on X, Modi described Kapoor as a “visionary filmmaker, actor, and the eternal showman.” He added, “Shri Raj Kapoor’s genius transcended generations, leaving an indelible mark on Indian and global cinema.” Highlighting Kapoor’s cinematic legacy, Modi wrote, “His films were a blend of artistry, emotion, and social commentary, reflecting the aspirations and struggles of common citizens. The iconic characters and unforgettable melodies of his works continue to resonate worldwide.”
Modi also noted Kapoor’s enduring influence, saying, “Generations of filmmakers and actors can learn from his pioneering storytelling and dedication to cinema.” He concluded by recalling Kapoor’s contributions to the creative world and reaffirming his legacy.
