In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Modi said, “He captivated millions with his unparalleled rhythm and seamlessly blended Indian classical traditions with global music, becoming an icon of cultural unity.”
The Prime Minister lauded Hussain’s iconic performances and soulful compositions, which he said would inspire generations of musicians and music lovers. Modi extended heartfelt condolences to Hussain’s family, friends, and the global music community.
Hussain, widely regarded as one of India’s greatest cultural ambassadors, passed away on Monday in San Francisco at the age of 73, leaving behind a profound legacy in music.
