AAP demands Congress’s  ouster from INDIA bloc

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for the expulsion of Congress from the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc, accusing the party of working against opposition unity. During a press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh alleged that Congress leaders are acting under the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and receiving funding from BJP leaders.

AAP leaders expressed outrage over Congress’s allegations against Arvind Kejriwal, labeling him “anti-national.” They defended their party Convenor, highlighting his integrity and principles. “Arvind Kejriwal is a leader of high standards who has dedicated himself to serving the people,” said Atishi.

The controversy escalated following statements from AICC treasurer Ajay Maken, who criticized Kejriwal for failing to deliver on his promises, including the establishment of the anti-corruption ombudsman, Janlokpal. “If there is one word to describe Kejriwal, it’s ‘Farziwal’,” said Maken, while releasing a white paper titled “Mauka Mauka, Har Baar Dhoka”.

The controversy erupted following a notice issued by the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department concerning the proposed Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, announced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. The department clarified that no official notification has been issued for the scheme, fueling criticism from the opposition. The demand for Congress’s removal from the INDIA bloc comes after a complaint by the Youth Congress against Kejriwal, accusing him of misleading voters and engaging in fraudulent activities.
