A special NIA court has issued proclamation notices to two gangsters, Happy Singh Passia from Passia village in Amritsar and Ramandeep Singh from Ferozepur, in connection with a case under the UAPA and the Arms Act. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered the case on July 10, 2023 in this regard. Passia is accused of financing the Chandigarh blast case. He and Ramandeep are alleged to have supplied weapons used for extorting businessmen, according to media reports. The case also involves several other accused, including Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu (alias Landa), weapon supplier Baljeet from Barwani (Madhya Pradesh), Gurpreet Singh Gopi, and Satnam Singh Satta. Baljeet and Gurpreet have been arrested, while Landa and Satta are reportedly based in Canada.
