Sanjiv Kapoor, former CEO of Jet Airways, took to social media to highlight the worsening filth and trash on the streets of Gurugram. Tagging the Gurugram Municipal Corporation and the Haryana CM’s office, he posted images of garbage-strewn roads with cows feeding off waste, calling the situation “worse than ever before.” He criticized the government’s ambition to build a Disneyland in Haryana, calling it “ludicrous,” and appealed to Prime Minister Modi for intervention, citing the lack of respect for citizens, land, and even animals. Kapoor also pointed out that the images were from the same spot he had previously flagged, where now only the stench remains.
Kapoor further mocked the authorities’ suggestion to use a yet-to-be-launched app to report garbage locations, questioning if officials “drive round blindfolded.” His post sparked strong reactions online, with users suggesting the privatisation of municipal corporations to enforce accountability.
