The Mosque Construction Committee has formally requested the Shimla Municipal Corporation to seal a section of a mosque allegedly built illegally, in a move aimed at preserving communal harmony.
A delegation, led by Committee Chairman Mohammad Latif, met with Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhupendra Atri, submitting a memorandum calling for action. The committee urged the Municipal Corporation to take appropriate steps, including demolition, if the structure is found to be illegal.
The committee reiterated its commitment to abiding by the corporation’s decision, stressing the importance of peace and brotherhood in Himachal Pradesh. Atri confirmed receipt of the memorandum, stating that a decision would be made after a thorough review.
