Without naming specific states, the Election Commission(EC) has announced a press conference scheduled for 3 pm today to reveal the timeline for the “General Election to Legislative Assemblies.” With the current Haryana government’s term nearing its end and Jammu and Kashmir awaiting polls following the Supreme Court order, it’s anticipated that the EC will declare the date of polls in these two states.
The Election Commission recently conducted visits to both states to assess election preparedness. Given the security concerns in one region, every candidate is expected to require security cover, which will likely increase the demand for resources.
