Elon Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals and the CEO of Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), has predicted that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will lose his position in the upcoming elections. Responding to a user’s call for support in ousting the incumbent leader, Musk tweeted, “He will be gone in the upcoming election.”
Musk’s comment comes as Trudeau prepares to face challenges from Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party and Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party. The statement has garnered attention, considering Musk’s influential role in global politics and media, the news outlet India Today reported.
Previously, Musk has criticized Trudeau’s administration, particularly its stance on free speech, including new regulations that mandate online streaming services to register for government oversight. His remarks echo concerns about Trudeau’s policies as he faces a pivotal moment in his political career.
In addition, Trudeau’s government is bracing for external challenges, including the economic impact of U.S. policies under newly elected US President Donald Trump. Canada’s economy, which relies heavily on trade with the U.S., may be significantly affected by Trump’s proposed 10 percent tariff on imports, a move that has raised concerns among Canadian economic experts and officials, the news outlet said.
