New Delhi, June 19
A group of 110 Indian students stranded in Iran has been safely brought back to India as part of the government’s ongoing evacuation mission, Operation Sindhu, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday. The students arrived in New Delhi aboard a special flight from Yerevan, Armenia. They were received at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs, K V Singh, in a gesture that underlined the government’s continued commitment to the safety of Indian nationals abroad.
“Operation Sindhu brings people home,” said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. He added that the evacuation effort reflected India’s priority to protect its citizens during times of global crisis.
