Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Wednesday strongly condemned the bomb threat targeting the Golden Temple in Amritsar, calling it an attempt to disrupt communal harmony and instil fear among the people. In a statement issued here, Sandhwan said the incident was a deliberate act by “mischievous elements” seeking to destabilise peace in Punjab. He assured the public that the perpetrators would not succeed in their intentions.
“Our government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards such threats,” he said. “Those behind this act will be arrested and dealt with strictly under the law.” Sandhwan also called on residents of Punjab to remain calm and united. “There is no need to fear. Terrorism has no religion, and we will not allow anyone to exploit such threats to divide society,” he added.
