Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that the BJP will secure a third-term government with a historic margin. He said that the people have rejected the Congress’s “politics of lies,” citing their false claims during the Lok Sabha polls about the Constitution being in danger and the end of reservations. “Rahul Gandhi is the face of ending reservation, and people in India are aware of what he says in English abroad,” Saini said while talking to the media after casting a vote.
Voting for Haryana’s assembly elections commenced at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm. A total of 1,027 candidates are contesting for 90 seats across the state. The ruling BJP is aiming for a third consecutive term, while the Congress hopes to return to power after a decade. Notable candidates include incumbent Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat, and JJP’s Dushyant Chautala.
