Shimla, September 16
Due to recent heavy rainfall, over 70 roads, mostly in Shimla, are now closed for vehicular movement across Himachal Pradesh. The Shimla district is most affected, with 39 roads closed, including 10 roads in apple-growing areas like Rohru, Jubbal, Kotkhai, and Rampur. This situation is likely to cause significant inconvenience to apple growers who have recently harvested their fruit and are preparing to transport it to market yards, according to media reports. The state has experienced widespread rainfall since Saturday morning. The meteorological department forecasts partly cloudy weather for Monday.
