Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta on Tuesday denied corruption allegations linked to the Chester Hill project in Solan, saying he is being targeted as part of a conspiracy, while accusing former senior bureaucrats of trying to implicate him. In a sharp rebuttal, Gupta said allegations that he irregularly acquired three acres of land in the Chester Hill area were “factually incorrect”. He claimed the land was purchased in July 2025 only after due government approval and insisted that the transaction followed proper procedure.
He also rejected claims that the land was bought at a concessional rate, saying the official collector rate was ₹1.10 crore, while he purchased it for ₹1.35 crore. According to him, the complaint filed at Chhota Shimla police station was “baseless and misleading”.
