Shimla, June 24
The Himachal Pradesh High Court in Shimla received a bomb threat through email on Tuesday, marking the second such threat within 15 days, according to police officials. Security agencies, including the Bomb Disposal Squad and Shimla Police, rushed to the judicial complex after the threat was received. A search operation was immediately launched in and around the court premises.
While the area has been thoroughly scanned, no explosive material has been found so far. Officials say the situation remains under control, but security has been tightened and police remain on high alert.
“The threat came through an email, similar to the previous incident. As a precaution, search protocols were activated immediately,” a senior police officer said. This is the second bomb threat to the Himachal High Court in just over two weeks, raising concerns about security in sensitive judicial institutions.
