To maintain law and order during the Chaitra Navratri fair, Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Priyanka Verma on Wednesday imposed a ban on carrying firearms, explosives and other sharp weapons in the Kala Amb area till April 2.
The 15-day Navratri fair will be held in Trilokpur village in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh from March 19 to April 2.
The DC has also banned the sale of meat and fish in the Trilokpur fair area.
Additionally, she has prohibited offering coconuts at the temple for security reasons. Verma has said legal action will be taken against anyone found consuming alcohol and creating a ruckus in the area during the fair.
The DC has also prohibited the movement of trucks and tractors loaded with straw or hay to supply to industries, especially paper factories, located on the Kala Amb-Trilokpur road from 6 am to 10 pm.
