India’s Embassy in Mali has confirmed that it is aware of the kidnapping of five Indian nationals in the West African country on November 6. In an official statement, the Embassy said it is in close contact with Malian authorities and the company employing the abducted individuals to ensure their safe and swift release. “The Embassy has been working closely with the Mali authorities and the company concerned to secure their safe release as quickly as possible,” the statement read.
