New Delhi, December 4

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has rescheduled the launch of the PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 mission to tomorrow following the detection of an anomaly. The mission, originally set to launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh, will now take place at 16:12 IST, ISRO announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The mission, a commercial effort by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), will carry a 550 kg payload into a highly elliptical orbit. It features the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3, an In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) mission designed to test precise formation flying using two spacecraft—the Coronagraph Spacecraft (CSC) and the Occulter Spacecraft (OSC). Both will launch in a stacked configuration.

PSLV-C59 underscores ISRO’s growing expertise in facilitating international collaborations and advances the agency’s record of dependable commercial satellite launches.
