The Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered 350 kilograms of explosives and two AK-47 rifles from Faridabad, Haryana, following the arrest of two doctors suspected of aiding a terror-linked operation. Officials sources said that the recovery was made based on the interrogation of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, who had earlier been arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur for allegedly putting up posters supporting the banned terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. Police had already found an AK-47 rifle in a locker at the Government Medical College in Anantnag, linked to Dr. Adil.
Further investigation led authorities to another suspect, Dr. Mujammil Shakeel, a resident of Pulwama and a doctor at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad. Acting on disclosures made during questioning, police recovered 350 kg of explosives — suspected to be ammonium nitrate — and two assault rifles from a location in Faridabad, near the national capital.
