Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Fomer Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lost their respective seats in the Delhi assembly elections, early results showed on Saturday. Vote counting began at 8 a.m. across all 70 constituencies. By 12:40 p.m., the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 48 seats, while AAP was ahead in 22, according to the Election Commission of India’s website.
Several exit polls had predicted a BJP advantage over AAP. A decisive win for the BJP would mark a significant political shift in Delhi.
