Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, on Monday shared a video highlighting the risks tourists face on frozen lakes and snowy roads, urging caution in extreme weather conditions. A video shows four tourists, including two women, trapped on the ice, calling for help. Thankfully, they were rescued one by one. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Rijiju advised visitors to prioritize safety while exploring the snow-laden Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh. “My advice to tourists: Walk on the frozen lakes with experienced people, drive carefully on slippery snow roads, and stay aware of snow avalanches. The temperature is freezing, so wear warm clothes and enjoy responsibly. Your safety is important,” Rijiju wrote. The scenic Sela Pass, a popular tourist destination, is prone to treacherous weather, making safety precautions crucial for visitors.
