Jharkhand, November 9
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday criticised Congress on Saturday, alleging that the party aims to redistribute reserved quotas for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) to benefit Muslims. “As long as BJP is in power, no one can touch SC, ST, and OBC reservations,” Shah asserted, addressing a gathering in Potka, Jharkhand.
Shah accused the Hemant Soren-led government of transforming Jharkhand into a haven for “vote bank infiltrators” and assured voters that they would reject such policies. Challenging Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah questioned Congress’s contributions to Jharkhand during the UPA’s decade in power, comparing it to the Modi government’s allocation of Rs 3.9 lakh crore to the state over the past 10 years.
He underscored the importance of the upcoming state election, urging voters to support a BJP-led government that “respects tribals and backward communities.”
