Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma has emerged as a strong contender for Delhi’s chief ministerial post after defeating former Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal by 4,089 votes. Following his victory, Verma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP president J.P. Nadda for their leadership. “I am grateful for the hard work of every BJP worker and the trust of the people of Delhi. Congratulations to all for this new dawn,” he posted on X, formerly Twitter. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kejriwal conceded defeat and congratulated the BJP. “We accept the people’s mandate with humility. I hope the BJP fulfils all the promises for which people have voted,” he said in a video message.
