Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he “deeply appreciates” remarks by Donald Trump, after the US President spoke positively about the state of relations between the two countries. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Modi wrote: “I deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and positive assessment of our ties. India and the US have a very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.” The comments came after Trump dismissed concerns about his earlier claim on his Truth Social platform that the US was “losing India”. Speaking to reporters, the President said that “I don’t think we have. I get along very well with Indian PM Modi as you know, he was here a couple of months ago, we went to the Rose Garden.” “I will always be friends with Modi, he is a great Prime Minister. India and the United States have a special relationship. There is nothing to worry about,” he added.
