Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized the shared interest in peace, security, and stability between India and Kuwait, as he announced his two-day visit to the Gulf nation at the invitation of Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. “We deeply value the historical connection with Kuwait nurtured over generations. We are not just strong trade and energy partners but also share a commitment to peace, security, and prosperity in West Asia,” the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Modi further said that he would meet with the Amir, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister of Kuwait to chart a “futuristic partnership” for mutual benefit. Highlighting the role of the Indian diaspora, he said he looks forward to interacting with them, acknowledging their contribution to strengthening bilateral ties. Expressing gratitude to Kuwait’s leadership, Modi appreciated the invitation to the Arabian Gulf Cup inauguration, calling it a “celebration of athletic excellence and regional unity.”
He expressed confidence that the visit would further enhance the “special ties and bonds of friendship” between the two nations.
