New Delhi, August 7
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Thursday authorised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda to decide the coalition’s candidate for the post of Vice President of India. The decision announced after a meeting of NDA Parliamentary Party leaders held in New Delhi, as shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Union Minister of Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
The proposal was moved by Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh and seconded by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Ram Mohan Naidu. It received unanimous support from all floor leaders of NDA constituents, Rijiju added.
