New Delhi, November 23
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra secured a resounding victory in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll, winning by over four lakh votes. The voter turnout, however, dropped to 64.72%, compared to 72.92% in the 2024 general election and 80.33% in 2019 when Rahul Gandhi first contested the seat.
After victory, Priyanka, expressing her gratitude, said she looks forward to representing the people of Wayanad in Parliament. She also thanked her brother Rahul Gandhi for his guidance and support, stating, “Thank you for showing me the way and having my back always.”
