Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Friday inaugurated a newly renovated Press Lounge at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh, providing journalists with a modern workspace. Refurbished after two decades through efforts of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Press Gallery Committee, the facility offers high-speed internet, desktops, printers, and upgraded seating arrangements.
Bains reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to press freedom, emphasising the vital role of independent journalism in democracy. Senior officials and media representatives attended the event.
