Chandigarh, December 6
The Amritsar’s Commissionerate Police have dismantled a cross-border terror module linked to Pakistan-based Harvinder Rinda and foreign-based operatives Happy Passian and Jeevan Fauji. Ten operatives, including four key members and six logistical aides, have been arrested by the Punjab Police in this connection, said Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on Friday. The module was involved in an attack on a police officer’s residence in Batala and had plans to target a police establishment in the area. The Police have seized one hand grenade, three pistols, and a Chinese drone believed to have been used for cross-border activities.
This operation reflects the Punjab Police’s commitment to countering terrorism and organized crime. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections and neutralize additional threats, the DGP said.
