Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday announced that all schools in the state will remain closed from 27 to 30 August due to continuous heavy rainfall. Mann said the India Meteorological Department has forecast more rain over the coming days, prompting the precautionary measure. He added that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff as monsoon conditions continue to disrupt life in several districts.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to remain cautious during the adverse weather, while officials have been directed to stay on alert to respond swiftly to any emergencies.
