Himachal Pradesh Police have rescued three 11-year-old boys from Bishop Cotton School, a prestigious boarding School in Shimla, less than 24 hours after they went missing.
The boys — Vidansh from Karnal, Angad from Mohali and Hitendra Singh from Kullu — were last seen on Saturday evening near the city’s Mall Road after a weekend outing. While their classmates returned to the hostel, the trio did not, prompting the school to alert police.
An extensive search operation was launched, with officers reviewing CCTV footage, setting up checkpoints and extending surveillance to neighbouring areas. The children were found in Chaithla, Kotkhai, around 50 km from Shimla.
Police have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of kidnapping on Sunday. Investigators are working to establish the motive. The case has been registered under Section 137B of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
