Himachal Pradesh’s tourism sector received a major boost with the launch of a 60-seater cruise on Gobind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu is set to inaugurate the cruise service between October 15 and 20. If successful, a larger 120-seater vessel will follow. The cruise will operate near the Mandi Bharari bridge along the Kiratpur-Nerchowk highway. On his X account, CM Sukhu expressed enthusiasm, highlighting the cruise as a way for tourists to enjoy the scenic 30-km-long lake. He also announced future plans for Shikara rides and speedboat activities to enhance the region’s tourism appeal.
The government is further pushing ‘village tourism,’ aimed at providing visitors with a local cultural experience while boosting the local economy. Sukhu emphasized that these initiatives will carve out a unique identity for Himachal Pradesh in the tourism sector.
